Neurotic Screams

 Busy Weeks

I had a great weekend. Outstanding.
Krys and I have been friends since, 1990. We like the same kinds of movies and we laugh at the same twisted jokes. We know each other, better than people think and often better than we realize. since he got married and moved to Austin we have kept in touch but we rarely spend time together. This weekend he recommended I "get the hell outta there"
So I drove up to Austin and stayed with him an Joel. It was great. We ate fatty barbecued pork, drank comfortably, and watched horror movies. We even had time to throw in a little Mortal Combat and kick the crap out of each other.

During the past two weeks, I reconnected with Kristi and Troy. We had not seen or spoken to each other for quite some time. Things turned out well. We are comfortable talking to each other and they actually listen when you say something. This is an attribute in short supply now-a-days. Far too many people are ready to make a statement before you finish a sentence, ready to throw their opinion before they en hear what you said.

PJ is PJ.
I told her a week ago I didnt want to talk to her anymore. There are far too many things, she is hiding or simply not telling me. She has never kept a date with me, and she makes too many excuses.
She got upset and insisted (and I mean insisted) we try again.
Now she has stormed off (figuratively)and says she wants to call it quits. Oi Vey!
And still she doesnt get my meaning. We are too old for this.

Amber is on my case about finding someone.
God love the girl, she really does care about me.

Me? Im letting my ulcer get bigger and trying to follow WWMFD.
Also, Im planning a trip to Mexico. Head south of the border and have a high ole time away from everyone.

 Movie Review - The Host

I waited a long time for "The Host" to be available. the instant I saw it on ebay, I damn near turned over my chair placing a bid.
I have to say, I was not disappointed.

The Host, or Goemul - "Monster" as it is also known is Korean director Joon-ho Bong best work sofar, with 14 Awards and 9 nominations.

The film starts out reliving an actual event. Back in Febuary of 2000 US Military researchers dumped some 20 gallons of formaldehyde into the Han River.
Move along a year or so later and we meet the Park family. There is the joyful and lovely Hyun-seo. Sweetheart of a 10 year old that looks after her dad Gang-Du. Gang-Du and his father Hie-bong own a little food wagon at the beach. Gang-Du's sister Nam-Joo is on television in the Olympics going for a gold in archery. Which she chokes up on and comes home with a bronze. The younger brother Nam-il is introduced after Hyun-seo is eaten by the monster. The slimy mutated monster is not the most dangerous thing in the film by any means. Director Joon-ho Bong, shows us just how callous and judgmental we can be as human beings . Indeed the entire Park family shows a borderline and sometimes open disgust for each other, as does everyone they encounter. But like true dysfunctionals, you mess with one and you messed with them all. The Parks stumble and struggle their way through underhanded "G-men", backstabbing friends, and each other to meet one goal. "Kill that slimy sombitch that ate or baby girl".

The Parks are not the only bungled and botched people in this film, however. The American and South Korean government manage to bungle things in true Big Brother style all the way through. Things go from bad to worse consistently every time the Park family encounters government men. From the self assured and pompous cop that threatens them to the American doctor that wants to dissect Gang-Du.

The music was sensual and touching when it needed it most. I especially liked the theme to Hyun-seo's escape. The sound effects were bone rattling every time. Thundering footsteps and bone crunching impacts that made you flinch, cause you knew it hurt. I love the visual effects for the monster. It was new and unique in its design. And more over, unlike most films, this beast doesnt care what time it is. Day or night, if he's hungry he is going to hunt. This allows you some great views of what a lumbering mass it is.

I dont want to give away too much of the film, as its a great thrill to watch. I highly recommend it.

Well, not a lot happening with me.
Not really. I've turned into a loner hermit lately.
I am trying to relax more. The doctors say my ulcer is growing.

But I do have plans.
Next weekend, Im going to head down highway 71. I saw some great shops on the side of the road today.
After talking to the instructor, I think I will not be skydiving.
I hate heights. Alot. Bearing this in mind the last thing I need is to get up there and panic.
"Mr L.. Mr L... STOP STRUGGLING! Let me pull the cord!"
Yeah. Bad idea all around.

Mom's doing well. Shes painting. And unpacking boxes.
it took 7 years but she is finally unpacking.
Oh and she said one of the coolest things to me.
she called on Saturday just to say, "I love you. and thank you for always being on my side."
Which, thats just an awesome thing to hear from your parent.

But I digress.
Since I have to relax and I am getting to be a timeless old geezer, I decided to try something. I am employing a new thinking. Making a new direction. WWMFD.
Thats right WWMFD. What Would Morgan Freeman Do.
I think thats who I want to grow up to be.

Alright..
Gotta run, and remember

 E-Guido Baby

I have been moved into a new job area.
Not really what I wanted to happen. I have been moved from hosting support to Network operations. Well, I didnt actually move. More like "here have some more of this, bitch". I do Network Support and domain support. Along with company name management, abuse management, and new client migrations.

Thats right I am a NOC Monkey now with feathers now.
In celebration Paul placed a plaque on my door. A simple 8×8 image of a howler monkey..
I know.. Its so me.
So now I have access to major network systems. Except, I dont really.
I do not have passwords to the mail servers, but I do have the APs and domain servers.
I also have control of the company credit card to a degree.
Can you say Aruba? I bet you can.
No, seriously, I would not do that. Fuckers would find me. I know they would.
with my new position I am the email and copyright abuse guy.
which means if you stole someones website or you download illegal MP3s I turn you off. Well, maybe. If its good music its alright. But I catch you downloading some Brittany Spears or Songs from the Crystal Cave, your ass is shutdown.

Oh. I forgot to mention.
I am commercial service collections too.
And I am good at it.
“So umm, its like dis. You want email. We wants our money. Caprice?”, or my favorite, “[sign] It would be a terrible thing if your website got lost you know? Caprice?”
Thats right. E-Guido on the roll baby.

Wait hold up. I have to look at this flag.
Someone is downloading a large file. A big File.
Downloading ‘I know who Killed me’. OH OH that bitch is outta here. Get that crap off my network.

Alright..
Gotta run, and remember
We are all just howler monkeys with Keyboards

 Today

Monday, January 7, 2008
You may feel as if your time is running out -- and it is. Although others may not understand your predicament, unfinished business can stand between you and your goals. With the Moon back in your sign, expect a higher level of anxiety, moodiness and restlessness. Unless it's truly urgent, try not to start a new project until after tomorrow's New Moon.

Hell of a thing for today aint it?
